MEET THE CREDIBULL
Lesson: wHEN INVENTING A BRAND MASCOT, Make a pun.
In Spring 2021, I worked with fintech startup Credible.com to formally launch their brand in the US. Explaining a website that compares loan rates across lenders thanks to a proprietary algorithm isn’t the most entertaining thing to sell, and with so many other companies in the space, we knew we had to come up with something memorable.
So we made a walking, talking animatronic bull that just looooooves to talk about Credible.com.
And of course we called him The Credibull.
To bring this fever dream to life, we partnered with famed animatronic studio Anatomorphex to concept, design, and build this strange creature. Over the course of just a few weeks we turned simple sketch of a bull sipping coffee in a cafe into the actual thing. It actually ended up being the most complex animatronic piece the studio had built to date. Insane.
Over a 3-day production in LA, we shot four spots featuring The Credibull dispensing invaluable information about the great rates you can find at Credible.com.
Finding a director that can balance humor with the insane regulatory requirements of financial advertising is no easy feat. Our search led us to Missing Pieces where we found the perfect collaborator in director Conor Byrne. He brought a distinct look and feel to the spots which really elevates everything. Conor is da man.
